Weed Dragon does the job June 1, 2010 A reader (Livingston, Montana) I have had my Weed Dragon for a couple of weeks. I've used it on a gravel driveway infested by a variety of tough weeds. In past years, weeds have covered half the driveway surface by mid-June. I have used the Weed Dragon on this driveway twice. Most of the unwanted weeds and grass on the driveway are dead. The few survivors will receive another treatment to kill them. Once the weeds are all gone, I will put fresh gravel on the driveway, confident that, if more weeds emerge, I can kill them quickly with the Weed Dragon. I have the model with the squeeze trigger, which works fine. I find that keeping the nozzle and flame about a foot above the weed tops works the best. One caution: keep a garden hose or fire extinguisher close by when using the Weed Dragon--grass, twigs and needles will catch fire if you're not careful. A general-purpose hand truck with pneumatic tires works well for moving the 20-pound LP canister around as I work with the tool. Overall, I am quite pleased with the Weed Dragon.
Works as advertised June 7, 2010 David Lee (Blackstone, VA) I purchased this after reading other favorable reviews. It's easy to hook up and use. It's not heavy, but a little awkward to hold for extended periods. It really works great on weeds. And while it does kill grass, the grass comes back in two or three weeks, but the weeds don't. Get something to haul the 20# propane tank, you can't lug that thing around. A handtruck works well.
does what it says, but... July 7, 2010 Paul C. Weeks (Penticton, BC Canada) OK, this does put out a lot of heat in a concentrated beam, but that doesn't really kill weeds. Like they say in the accompanying literature, this isn't the be-all and end-all to weed management. Also it's easy to get a bit of fire going that you didn't intend. It's a good thing, with a specialized application.
Lots of fun July 26, 2010 Scott J. Haas (Portland OR) This unit does everything it is supposed too. And makes loud jet noises while you are at it. I zapped the weeds in my driveway the day this arrived and they still have not come back. I have some larger areas to work on next and have no doubt this will do the trick. Keep a hose handy like they tell you since it will start things on fire occasionally. Very hot...love it.
VT 2-23 SVC Weed Dragon July 31, 2010 markmac The Weed Dragon is all it claims and more. You could use this to clear a small village if you had to.
