So I'm not sure what people are reviewing but the latest model of this product has AC power. It works great.
Also, take the time to read the requirements and you won't be fooled by the 1' 4" requirement.
Overall, this product is great, easy to use, and gets me in the right parking location every time.

This product is great. I bought this for my daughter to help her park in a fairly tight garage. I was very pleased to find that everything you need is included in the kit (except a screwdriver). It is extremely easy to install and calibate. Once installed, simply park your car where you want, then turn the unit off and on. That's it. It's accurate too. I parked repeatedly and was within plus or minus 1 inch from where I set the distance. I was very impressed and I am a critical guy. Recommend to anyone.

After 5 years of having a garage, I finally cleaned it to the point where I can now park my 2006 Chrysler 300. I purchased the Parking Aid and mounted it on a door of a cabinet that sits at the back wall of the garage. I'm using the battery powered capability since my back wall has no electrical outlets. Since my purchase and installation about a month ago it's been working perfectly. Easy install, (about 15 minutes). Functions great. If I ever get the rest of my garage uncluttered and am able to get my other vehicle in, I will attempt to sense both on 1 unit or purchase a second to do the job.

My father-in-law has had two of these for years. We jumped at this one after searching stores and finding nothing. It is a newer version of the same brand as his (better with power adapter AND batteries). It was extremely easy to install and works great. Now, parking my husband's big pickup is faster and less accident-prone for me. I don't have to get out and make sure I'm in far enough or make sure I don't run into the shelves in front of the truck!! I would recommend this to anyone who is tired of hanging a tennis ball or guessing by a mark on the wall. Terrific product. Arrived sooner than expected.
